As a board-certified in Internal medicine, Nephrology, and Interventional Nephrology, I serve as a professor in both “Medicine & Radiology” departments at the University of Alabama in Birmingham (UAB). At UAB, I train and supervise more than 6 interventional radiology and nephrology fellows, more than 30 medical and radiology residents, and many medical students. Further, upon joining UAB, I helped in establishing the new “vascular residency program” at UAB, in which I act as a founding faculty and a member of the core curriculum committee. Prior to joining UAB, I was the founding director of the interventional nephrology fellowship program at the University of Tennessee in Memphis and obtained the ASDIN designation for the program. I have been an active councilor of the ASDIN since 2020 and a member of the Society of Interventional Radiology. Scholarly, I am on the editorial board and a reviewer of a wide base of journals including internal medicine, nephrology, and interventional journals. Moreover, I present and speak at national and international meetings. I also dedicate time to educational efforts in our dialysis units and radiology departments in USA and internationally.
